“I
spent 20 years behind a desk, building a successful
insurance business and sacrificing my health, happiness and
time with my family. It wasn’t until I joined a women’s
health club in 2000 that I found a way to fit exercise into
my schedule, usually at lunchtime. I sold my previous
business in 2000 and ended my insurance career in 2001. I
spent the next two years at home, with my family and began
an education journey into the world of wellness and fitness.
We opened a fitness center in my home town of Easton,
Maryland in 2003 and changed the name in 2007 to BodyWatts
Personal Training and Pilates Studio for Women.
What I have learned so far in my journey to of finding my
life’s purpose is to embrace change. Every person that we
encounter throughout our life is there for a reason. Every
job we have held was meant to teach us something that would
be useful in fulfilling our purpose. Since changing the
direction of my life, I have earned the title of certified
personal trainer, certified Pilate’s instructor and group
aerobics instructor and certified cancer exercise
specialist. In 2006 I became certified as a Peak Pilates
Instructor for reformer, mat, tower and chair and I am
continuing my Pilates training. I am interested in natural
healing and continue my study in the area of nutrition and
natural supplements.
My husband, Ray, and I have co-authored a children’s book,
Fat Girl Kicks Butt, as a way to help youngsters and their
parents understand the importance of exercise and making
healthier food choices. We have a patent pending through our
BodyWatts Products for various exercise apparatus which we
hope will enhance exercise routines in gyms and homes around
the world. I am partnering with acclaimed author and coach,
Anita Pathik Law to bring a new form of coaching into the
fitness realm.
I encourage my clients to step out of their comfort zone and
try new exercises and I watch in awe as they master these
moves and become leaner and stronger. Their self-esteem
rises, they look and feel better and they are improving
their fitness age. I am finding my life’s purpose. It is
focused around empowering others to become their personal
best.”
One of my favorite quotes…
“If you think you can, or you think you can’t, you’re right”…
